October 11th Daily Devotion - Day 2
God's Timing Is Not Our Timing
Reading: Ecclesiastes 3:1-11 — A passage affirming that God has appointed a season and a purpose for everything under heaven, and that He makes all things beautiful in His time.
Devotional:
Few things test our faith more deeply than waiting. We want answers now. We want healing now. We want the door to open now. But as the pastor shared from the pulpit, "His timing not only gets what we want, but it blesses everyone else. Others are changed because of it in his timing."
Think of Daniel in the lions den. Think of Abraham and Sarah waiting for a child. Think of the three years of hard, slow, miraculous recovery that one family in that congregation walked through together. In every case, God was not late. He was precise.
The same God who was faithful then is faithful now. He has not changed His character between your last answered prayer and this present waiting season.
Personal Reflection: Is there a promise God has spoken over your life that you have been tempted to release? What would it look like to hold on for one more day?
Practical Application: Read Psalm 27:14, which speaks of waiting on the Lord and taking courage. Write the promise God has given you on a notecard. Place it somewhere you will see it daily as a reminder that His timing is perfect even when it does not feel that way.
