October 25th Daily Devotion - Day 4

Pour Out to Be Filled

Reading: 2 Kings 4:1-7

The widow in this passage had very little — just a small jar of oil. But the man of God instructed her to gather vessels and begin pouring. As long as there were empty vessels, the oil did not stop flowing. The principle is the same in our spiritual lives. When we pour out — our burdens, our pride, our pain, our pretense — God pours in. He cannot fill what is already full of the wrong things. Coming to the altar is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of faith that says, Lord, I am emptying myself so that you can fill me with what only you can provide.

Personal Reflection: What are you holding onto that is preventing God from pouring into you more fully?

Practical Application: Find a quiet place today and spend time in honest, unfiltered prayer. Pour out everything — the frustration, the doubt, the grief — and then sit in silence and allow God to speak into the empty space.
