November 1st Daily Devotion - Day 3
He Will Never Leave You
Reading: Deuteronomy 31:8 -- Moses assures the people that God Himself goes before them and will be with them, promising never to fail or abandon them, and calling them to courage over fear.
Devotional: One of the most disorienting experiences in life is feeling abandoned -- by a friend, a family member, or even by God Himself. Circumstances have a way of making the presence of God feel distant or absent. But the promise recorded in Deuteronomy was not given to people who had it all together. It was spoken to a people on the edge of something unknown, facing territory they had never seen. God went before them then, and He goes before you now. He is not watching from a distance. He is already in the place you have not yet arrived. You are never walking into the unknown alone.
Reflection: In what area of your life does it feel as though you are walking into unfamiliar or frightening territory? How does the promise of God's presence change the way you approach that uncertainty?
Practical Application: Identify one situation this week where fear or anxiety is tempting you to withdraw or give up. Take one deliberate step forward in faith, trusting that God has already gone before you into that space.
