September 6th Daily Devotions - Day 4

Day 4: Expecting the Supernatural
Reading: Acts 3:1-10 — Peter and John encounter a man crippled from birth outside the temple gate. Rather than offering money, Peter declares healing in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and the man rises and walks for the first time in his life.

Devotional: The man at the Beautiful Gate expected a handout. He received a miracle. He was expecting something, and that expectancy positioned him to receive what God had for him. The pastor challenged his congregation with a direct question: did you get up this morning expecting God to do something amazing? Expectancy in the Christian life is not wishful thinking. It is faith rooted in the character of a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is still the God of the supernatural. Do not reduce your faith to what you have already seen. Expect more.

Reflection Question: When you gather with other believers, do you arrive with genuine expectation, or have you settled into routine?

Practical Application: Before your next church gathering or time of prayer, write down one specific thing you are believing God to do. Hold it before Him with expectancy throughout the week.
