September 13th Daily Devotion - Day 2
Eternity Is Already in You
Reading: Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 11 -- a passage describing seasons of life, including birth and death, and the truth that God has placed eternity within the human heart
Devotional: Solomon observed that God has planted eternity in the human heart. That restlessness you feel, that longing for something more, that sense that this world cannot fully satisfy you -- it is not a flaw. It is a design. You were made for more than what this life offers. The things of this world, no matter how good or beautiful, will never fully fill the space inside you that was made for God and for eternity with Him. This is why the gospel is not just good advice for living a better life. It is the answer to the deepest question the human heart has ever asked.
Reflection Question: In what areas of your life have you tried to fill an eternal longing with something temporary?
Practical Application: Identify one area where you have been seeking satisfaction in something other than God. Intentionally redirect that energy toward time in prayer, Scripture, or worship this week.
