October 18th Daily Devotion - Day 5

The God Who Exceeds the Need

Reading: Ephesians 3:20 — This verse declares that God is able to do far more abundantly than all we could ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within us.

Devotional: The widow came with a debt. She left with a future. God did not simply cancel what she owed. He provided enough for her and her sons to live on beyond the crisis. This is the character of God. He does not merely meet the need. He exceeds it. He does not just forgive the debt. He restores the life. He does not simply remove the cancer. He rebuilds the soul. Whatever you are facing today, bring it to Him with open hands and an obedient heart. He is the God of the breakthrough. He is the God who parts waters, moves mountains, and fills empty vessels to overflowing. His name is greater than every name your problem carries. And His outpouring has no end, only a shortage of willing vessels. Be one today.

Reflection: Where have you been limiting God by the size of your expectation? What would it look like to trust Him for more than just the immediate need?

Practical Application: Write down one area where you have been praying only for survival. Rewrite that prayer today to ask God for abundance, restoration, and overflow, and then hold onto it as a declaration of faith.
