The God Who Restores
Reading: Genesis 22:1-8
Devotional: Abraham told his servants that both he and Isaac would return from the mountain. He used the word we. This was not wishful thinking. It was covenant faith. Abraham had walked with God long enough to know that God does not break His promises. Even when the instruction made no earthly sense, Abraham trusted the character of the One who gave it. Worship was not something Abraham performed at the top of the mountain. Worship was what carried him up it. He called what he was about to do an act of worship before a single step had been taken. God honored that faith. He always does. He is a God of restoration.
Reflection: Is there something God is asking you to surrender that feels impossible to release? How might trusting His character change the way you hold onto it?
Practical Application: Write down one promise from Scripture that speaks directly to your current situation. Carry it with you today and return to it every time fear or doubt rises up.
